Freedom Youth AU – Empowering Young People Through Mentorship and Healing
September 16, 2025Alycia Burton – Inspiring Lives Through Horses and Mentorship
It’s an exciting time in my life — I’m living my dream while helping others live theirs. I’m Alycia Burton, a professional horse trainer, performer, public speaker, and youth counselor. Many know me for my Free Riding with my palomino pinto, Goldrush, where together we’ve jumped incredible heights without a saddle or bridle. Over the years, our story has inspired people all around the world.
From New Zealand to the World
My journey began in New Zealand, and through many years of touring across Australia and the USA, I’ve performed, taught lessons, and run youth retreats that have touched countless lives. Those experiences shaped my mission: to use horses as a way to build confidence, resilience, and connection in young people and adults alike.
Focus on Youth Mentoring
Now, my main focus is on youth mentoring and personal development programs. I work with young people to help them heal from their past, discover their dreams, and learn how to live a life on purpose. Through live-in retreats and hands-on programs, I guide participants in building confidence, developing life skills, and forming meaningful connections. Using horses as a central part of the program, I teach leadership, trust, and emotional resilience, helping each young person see their potential and believe in themselves.
Horse Lessons and Training
Alongside mentoring, I continue to offer horse lessons for riders of all ages and levels. Horses have an incredible way of teaching trust, patience, and self-belief — lessons I pass on to every student. From basic riding skills to advanced training, I focus on building strong partnerships between horse and rider while fostering personal growth.
Looking Ahead
As I travel and expand my programs throughout Queensland and beyond, my mission is clear: to inspire courage, create meaningful connections, and empower people of all ages to achieve their full potential. Every day, I see the impact horses and youth mentoring can have, and I’m committed to helping more young people experience transformation and growth through these programs.
This is a time of growth, connection, and purpose — and I’m excited to continue sharing my journey, my lessons, and my love for horses with everyone who wants to dream bigger and live fully.
